  • I think audio commentary would be amazing!

  • @rlbond I agree! The amount of technical knowledge put into a TAS like this is amazing.

  • @nesatlas Dude, how did you do that?

  • @IvoryGecko1993 I am planning on shooting a how-to video soon. At the moment I'm building a new PC to render these videos better. Stay tuned!

  • how many missiles does it take to destroy mother brain?

  • @enoche1974 Reading the notes from "Lord Tom" he writes that it takes 32 missiles to defeat Mother Brain :)

  • @KidAran Are you implying that the players that do tool-assisted speedruns aren't great players ? The amount of deep knowledge of the game, time and skill required to do them is tremendous. It often takes them dozen thousands of re-records and generally months if not years for some runs. TAS is a marevelous thing, but it doesn't remove credit from non-TAS runs, so stop removing credit from TAS ones thanks

  • @KidAran Then watch the various Speedrunning marathons that are done live. Like Awesome Games Done Quick 2 that is coming up at the beginning of January

  • what

  • @aquelescaraaaaaaaaaa OOT but do you count the number of times you press A each time you log in?

  • The atlas thing is great but I just can't stand to watch more "perfect" tool-assisted runs, it kills me. It whould have been better to se a ~20:00 run that was a real one, it's lame that tool-assisted runs are getting attention because ppl wants to watch the "fastest" video, and by that the great players gets shrouded.

  • Awesome! I love how the full map shows enemy behavior when offscreen and how you can actually see the palette changes that they used to save memory so that it could be the biggest and best NES game ever!

Nintendo needs a GOOD 2D Metroid again in the spirit of this one (not like Fusion, where everything is handed to you on a silver platter, one where you need to think!)

This was SUCH a hard game at the time, but also so relaxing compared to the other insta-die-no continue games of the era.

  • The lair IS above the beginning. My ****ing mind. . . O_o

  • amazing
