Why does my PS3 turn off after about 30 seconds? I get a green light for power, the fan blasts and goes quiet after a few seconds, no video or sound or XMB and then the system goes to stanby with solid red light.

  • Can somebody help me. I was web browsing on my ps3 then out of nowhere it turned off. Its working fine now but im worried about it turning off for no reason now <:O

  • My ps3 slim does this but as soon as i get to my music folder it turns off.

It did it now and again, but i've just started using it again after just over a year due to losing the controller and now it does it all the time!

  • @badash786 Where can you get the thermal paste? My PS3 is doing the same thing green light is for a few seconds then turns it's self off the light turn to blinking red.

  • @alcatonelover You must try the way of turning on the console from behind, and then, press the open disc tray button a lot of times, that maybe will open the disc tray, depending on how damaged the console is, it can work or not, but it worth giving a try. =)

  • @DonDiego500000 i have this problem and i had cod in it is there a way to fix this prblem?

  • Were is da thermal paste located because I drop my game and no picture is showing

  • @wimosa1112 its durty and nned a thermal paste change

  • 1: Nice TV 2: Switch your ps Logo on your ps3 :P

  • i has the same issue, thought it was YLOD at first but then noticed it was turning on for about 10 seconds then shutting down from green light straight to flashing red. Opened it up, swapped power supply first from another PS3 but that didnt work.

Then opened it down to the mother board and could see the thermal paste was cooked!! Applied Diamond IC7 cleared all the dust out and now works good as new

  • whats the fix for this i have the same problem??
