Because we are both from Brazil and I'm proud to have the fastest swimmer in the world coming from my country, just like all (or most) Americans must be very proud of Michael Phelps and all the other great american swimmers.

@jotacrawl There's only one problem with what you just said. Although Cielo may be from Brazil the only reason he was able to accomplish that swim is from training in the United States. He has, and continues, to train here with all American coaches, facilities, and equipment. Even though it's true he popped out of his mother's womb in Brazil he has no affilitaion to that country with anything relating to swimming.

@BrookieSoccer3 In a 100 Free, your last 50 split should be no slower than 2 second than your first 50. Usually pure sprinters will get excited and take it out ridiculously fast and have little left in the tank for that last 50. Cielo however, seems to bring it back pretty hard though.

You know it's a really fast heat, when the last-place finisher swims a 42.86. I'm 16 and I go a 51.41, and I used to think I was fast, now I feel really slow.

@jotacrawl yea he was out 19.6 back 21.3 thats less than a 2 second split which i think is right where you want to be in a hundred

Did he die?
He came back on 21"32...most people can't do that on the 50...
No, he didn't die....Sure he was tired, 40"92 is pretty hard to do but I think 21"32 is still a very respected 2nd half
