Southside Health and Wellness Centre in Northern BC unites Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal Communities

The Southside Health & Wellness Centre embraces all that is positive about a vision of sustainable change. It is a healing centre that is client focused and community minded. It is also a five-year success story which began when First Nations leaders in the area known as southside [Francois Lake, 225 km. west of Prince George, BC] envisioned an expanded health and wellness centre for all residents Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal -- in this remote region in northern British Columbia.

Sustainable change for BCs Northern Health Authority comes, in part, with Care North focused on enhancing the way primary health care services are delivered in the northern part of British Columbia. The Care North vision encompasses a health care system founded in primary care and community, where every resident has a primary care home, providing access and comprehensive, coordinated care. Care North develops multidisciplinary professional teams to establish long-term healing relationships with patients and to help northerners both manage their health and build healthier communities.
