1999 ESPN Best Trick Colin Bob Tony Hawk 900

Here is some footage from the 1999 X-games where you can see some of the best makes from the contest. In my opinion Colin McKay should have won and Tony Hawk should have been awarded some sort of achivment award because the contest had been over of 20 min or more before he pulled the 900.

am i the only one who remembers that tony hawk actually didnt win gold at the skate best trick contest since his 900 was after time? it was colin mckay that won the contest. not that im saying that winning the contest is more important than doing a 900, because clearly it isnt. i just remember that colin mckay won but for the LIFE of me cannot find any proof online. can anyone cosign me on this so i dont feel crazy??

Sometimes contest suck the life out of Skateboarding! Colin Blew everyone away he proformed & completed tricks that to this day are still mind blowing. There was 20 seconds left and knowing that he won threw his board into the crowd. So we watched and waited 45 minutes after the event was over for a 900. Everone rushed Tony and were saying that he won. I told the organization - don't do it! Give Tony a Lifetime acivment award or something, Give Colin the Gold. They looked at me like I was crazy.

So they gave the Gold to Tony. I went over and shook Colin's Hand and told him that he won and had gotten ripped off. Colin was so shocked and humble that he looked at me and smiled and said what are you talking about Tony just did a 900. ----- Thank you for writting because for the last ten years I was thinking that I was going crasy! And for the future of Skating I would much rather see the beauty power and finesse of skateboarding than seeing someone spinning 1280's
