It is very difficult but very spectacular sport. I drove on ski cross track in Les Deux Alpes (France). Tight corners at high speeds are really cool, but jumping is not my domain. You need to have strong legs and have a freak. Good doctor also come in handy:)

been in a ski cross a small number of times, at times its a lot more scary than freeriding or than youd expect as (if you are behind) you hope the rider in front falls, but at the same time if he/she does youll likely go straight into them. And then there are the massive jumps which lead straight into a banked turns (and then back to massive jumps which you really need to be on the ball to not cock up. A real leg killer also. But the commitment of these olympic riders is just unbelievable.

It's likely because the racers are placed with the fastest seed times at the inside and the slower seed times on the outside. This is done in other racing sports as well such as swimming.
