Round Two
Part 3
Featuring Lilian Baylis Technology School, Little Ilford School, Holy Family Technology College

The London Teenage Poetry SLAM is a spoken word poetry project that brings together students from across London secondary schools to write, perform and make their voices heard through poetry. Each school works with an established poet for five months, coming to appreciate that poetry, both written and performed, is a living form of expression that is relevant to young people today. The project culminates in a SLAM final, a celebration of students achievements where each team showcases their orginial work to a live audience and panel of judges. The highest scoring team is awarded the opportunity to represent the project on a trip to Chicago, birthplace of SLAM poetry.

The London Teenage Poetry SLAM is directed by poet and educator Jacob Sam-La Rose, who has over ten years experience of managing poetry-in-education projects. The SLAM was founded in 2003 by poet and teacher Peter Kahn and Fahro Malik, CEO of Lynk Reach and SLAM Producer.
