I agree this is mild and sanitized ..... as many families in many states know. This is probably the beginning, because the arrogance and power that is used against our families is a disgrace.

3. A large number of students in SPED have normal intelligence but have a learning disability (LD). Having an LD does not mean they cannot learn, but means they require a different approach. When provided with the right approach, these students are highly successful to the point that they can academically perform as if they did not have LD.

4. Huge problem is many teachers do not have training in this specialized method or if training takes place it is not founded on proven methods.

1. School systems spend tax payer money to pay to belong to associations that provide lawyer seminars to teach them how to prevent students from receiving a Free and Appropriate Education (which is the law they are supposed follow).

2. Special education does not mean diluting the curriculum as the public is made to believe by so many school bureaucracies. SPED is supposed to bring skills up so the gap is closed.

wow...we have certainly been subject to this treatment in canada.we too homeschool,for my child is a human being,not just a mental delay.Not until you have a child like mine do you really open your eyes to how really messed up the rest of normal society really is.I'm appalled at the school system.Lots of love to all of you that have been through all of the struggles.Keep on loving your children for who they are.

The biggest misconception about autism is that they think all of these children are mentally retarded, which is ignorance of autism. Once these kids get over their hump of learning, they usually take off like crazy and make up for lost time! But they have to have the believers in education to back them.

I wonder what would happen if the law firms with school contracts were cut off from the public feeding trough. Or if schools focused on solutions for our children rather than learning IDEA loopholes from NELI (Nat Ed Law Institute) semiars. I wonder what would happen if everyone followed the money and realized how our tax dollars are actually being spent....
