Author and Journalist Neil MacFarquhar discusses his novel "The Sand Cafe" as part of the Authors@Google series. MacFarquhar was the New York Times bureau chief in Cairo from 2001 to 2005, and he has reported from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Egypt, Libya, and other countries. A fluent speaker of Arabic, MacFarquhar attended elementary school in Libya and graduated from Stanford in 1982. This event took place June 26, 2007 at Google Headquarters in Mountain View, CA.
