If you're on a MAC use Omnidazzle to write on anything on your screen. If you're on a PC you'll need another tool - I recommend Camtasia Studio, the recording software, which also includes a pen tool so you can draw on things as you record. Cheers!

Hi Pat.....when I do tutorials (like this one), I am usually working the computer and talking at the same time.....which isn't always very smooth or quick. Are you speaking and writing at the same time? Or do you record your voice first.....and then create the video and do all the visual stuff after so that it all lines up? Hope that makes sense.......Thanks!!

I'm speaking and writing at the same time, although I know people who record the video and audio separately. To be honest, that's a tough thing to do but after some practice it can become second nature like it is for me now. Great question! Thanks!

Hi Pat,
I was wondering how you were able to write so well in photo shop, most times people are lucky if they can manage to scribble out anything readable.
Do You know if this pen tablet will also work in word press?
I think it would be great to be able to use the pen tablet for signing your real name at the end of your blog post, instead of some of the online signature software.
It just seems that it would personalize a blog post more.
Thanks for sharing.

Like I say in the video, the pen and tablet tool makes it like I'm just writing on paper, which transfers over to the screen. You could use the tool to make your real signature in photoshop, export it as a jpg or png image and then insert that at the end of your blog posts, if that's what you want to do. Hope this helps!

Actually Pat @2:57 you forgot to mention the BEST option for creating these backgrounds, which is Keynote or PowerPoint. So much easier than Photoshop or Gimp!!

Thanks for the video. The idea to use a custom, static image for the background is very clever. One question: How are you erasing your writing? Is it a function of the tablet, or a shortcut in Photoshop that does this?
