My little baby MADDIE - who passed away yesterday

She was so special, such a great character, always speaking to me. Mornings she would say 'Here I am', 'water.. food', then 'peanuts'. Then when I left for the day she would say 'you going now? Seeya later', then when I got home in the evenings she would say 'Helloooo bubba' 'Kiss' 'Where's my kiss' and make kissie noises. Then she'd sit on my shoulder, come down to the living room run around the floor saying 'Walk, walk' with me chasing her and her laughing. Then she went into the kitchen where my mother was, she'd sit on her chair in the dining room saying to my Mum 'Muuuuum, where are you' 'Alllloooooo' and do a little whistle my Mum taught her. Then it was bedtime, she's sit on my shoulder, I take her to her room, put her in the cage and cover her cage ready for the night. She come down and eat her food, then climb up to her sleeping perch. I'd turn the light out, she say 'Big kiss.. good girrrrl' and I say 'Night darling', then she reply 'See you in morning'. Aw my little Mads, she's gone, I miss her so much, so so much. The pain I feel is unbearable, I loved Maddie. Rest In Peace my darling BIG kiss xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx - Geoff

What did happen to her?

Not 100% sure. But we think it was possibly a fungal infection, or an underlying health problem, she had cold/breathing probs in the past but always recovered with medication. Maybe this time it was too much for her.

So sorry you lost your beautiful bird. I understand that unbearable pain. After I buried my sweet bunny, I went into a deep, unconsolable depression for months. One thing that brought me comfort was that I knew that he knew he was loved and that he had a great life. Clearly, your Maddie knew this as well. I know how heart-wrenching losing a beloved animal can be. I'll be praying for you.

I am so sorry bro My heart goes out to you and your baby. My baby too past away in Aug 11 09 hes name was Jerry ( Mollucan Cockatoo)and he was a rescue. I know your pain. How many years did your baby Maddie live? She is so beautiful. God, bro im so sorry jerking a tears here man Godbless you for taking care and Loving his creatures.

Hi Geoff only just found out you lost Maddie really sorry to hear that I know you will be missing her terribly. I remember the stories you told about her and she sounded a like a real character a great talker and very funny. Take care.

So very sorry for your loss. I have 3 CAGS & one is a sickly little guy, having come from a bad home....I will be totally heartbroken when we lose him....I'm devastated now when he has bad flare up days...they are precious babies....

i had a cat i found in a box 20 years ago, i just put him to sleep a few months ago. i think i still hear his sounds around me, sometimes. sorry cheeky...
