How to Choose Colleges in Today's Economy:
I created this video for those of you that will be sending your son or daughter to college in the next 2 to 5 years.
College admissions and financial aid process from the perspective of a parent and a retired guidance counselor. I spent 34 years in education with the last 30 years in guidance.

The admissions process is pretty straight forward because it dependes on what type of profile your son or daughter creates in high school (GPA, Class Rank, SAT Scores, and Activities). With this information, you can go to the college/university's website and compare your child's profile to that of the latest freshman class at that institution to get an idea where he or she stands in regards to possible acceptance. To get information on SATs, college search, planning for college, and paying for college, you should start at http://www.collegeboard.com./

The financial aid process is a little more involved. You need to look at schools and be aware of the price tags. First thing that you need to do is find out what is your financial profile. Your son and daughter will get in to many schools depending on his or her profile, but where can you afford to send him or her is the question. At the moment, you need to go to http://www.fafsa4caster.ed.gov/ to calculate your Expected Family Contribution (EFC). Once you have your EFC calculated then you can shop for schools in a more realistic manner. Now you have an idea of how much the institutions will expect you to come with financially. This will also help you in finding the safety schools for your child. This is at least 2 schools that you can afforf with little help or no help at all.

If you want to investigate the possibility of paying for your son or daughter's education with ease or at least have him or her come out of college with little debt or no debt at all, go to my website at http://leoneldarosa58.myhomefortune.com/land2.php for more information on how this could be possible.

You can also go to my Blog at http://www.leonel-darosa.blogspot.com/ to get more information on college admissions and financial aid.

Good luck and God bless you!
