The F/A-18 Super Hornet is the only combat plane in the WORLD that can go straight up in the air, and go super sonic. Really fun in BF3 too. :P

f-111s were becoming way too old. it was something like 100 maintenance hours for one flight hour. the super hornet has far superior avionics and weapon systems and doesn't need a fighter escort into combat zones. they new hornets also have the ability to tank with each other to extend their combat radius.

These things are loud - way louder than the F111s they replaced (as well as slower, have much shorter combat radius and cant carry the same bomb load). I have yet to see one leave the ground without that centreline fuel tank.
