I can see why the scene was deleted. Sadly, it slowed the pace and ultimately does nothing for plot progression. Glad to see it, though

Okay...Now I see that @ 2:21 that he's @ the crater near the foot of the House of EL citadel/domicile. Thats why he see's the"S" engraved on the stone.

so he spent 5 years to travel to krypton only to have a brief glimps that krypton has become a big ball of kryptonite. unlucky
