@killbotfelwick A fine sentiment, but sadly, dwindling numbers are usually due to other, external issues... typically habitat loss/destruction of food sources. Almost invariably the result of human involvement, mind you. Unfortunately, simply releasing captive-hatched birds into the wild isn't the answer, though it would certainly be nice if it were. For instance, the kakapo is struggling like mad to come back from hyper-critical conditions... a population as low as 40 remaining in the mid-80s.

They look like Chocobos from the Final Fantasy game.
I'd love to own a bird but I'd feel terrible if they couldn't free fly, and I simply don't have the time/money to teach the return command. I wish I did though, simply beautiful creatures.
Congrats on the hatching ^^ You should name one Chocobo next time, since I'll never be able to.

Yes they can talk when they are older some have quite good vocabularies.

Thanks for the reply. the reason i asked is because i am an indian from USA and that is what i do collect them and pray with them. i am sorry about your friend i am sure he is in a better place now
