i understand what you're saying, but the sound is that of scooped mids. and the sound of the amp is what this vid is intended to demonstrate, not the definition of eq scooping. if you owned one of these amps you'd understand. it has a totally different sound with the mids up. 5 is as scooped as it gets without sounding ridiculous. kapish?

This amp has a killer tone, especially for metal. I use an ESP M-207, dropped tuned to G# & it handles all that low end like a champ! If you want to really hear what this amp can do, check out the band "Wonderland Syndrome"

I own the combo version!

These are the best and most brutal solid state amps ever made ... not to mention they can be smooth as silk for your jazz and country licks!

But they are brutal and devastating. When you plug it into a 4x12 the bass is unmatched and the highs are not so "sterile" sounding as much.(my opinion: their only drawback ice pick highs)

I love mine ... next up is an Ampeg VL1002 then VH140C Head.
