The laundry room in my apartment building has a light switch that is more like an egg timer. You can set it for a few minutes and, instead of chiming, it will shut off the lights when the time expires. Most (if not all) classes know how long they will be using a room. Why not use low cost timer switches instead of complaining about high cost motion detectors (that often don't really work)?
It would be EXTREMELY helpful if teachers were required to post all documents, assignments, etc. on Blackboard for students to download. I can never keep track of a paper trail, AND making it available digitally would allow students with computers to access the information posted, and only print it out if needed.
