Franco Corelli at "Celebration of Tenors" 1997 Vienna

These two clips are from the "Celebration of Tenors" performance. This concert had been advertised as Corelli's return to the stage. He was honored at the concert by the Austrian Minister of Culture and speaks very briefly. The second video clip is the finale of the event where Corelli stands silent while his colleagues sing. I'm sure everyone in the audience was expecting to hear Franco sing a phrase or two, but it was not to be or does he sing just a little. Look closely at the clip. The song is "Wein, du Stadt meiner Träume. It would have been a rare thing to hear Corelli sing in German as I don't believe he ever did.
