GRAW PS2 Online Gameplay (Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter)

I actually just got this game today (04-21-09), and this is my first time online, so the ****talkers will not be tolerated on my vid.

My point in making this vid isn't to show off my 1337 skills. I'm instead just showing off how the game plays for those interested in it. This isn't a lame ass montage, and I don't ruin the gameplay by playing music to it. I'm advertising the game in a way.

My biggest problem with this game online is it's server setup. You can't create your own room to play in, you just choose a room from a preset list. This means that many of the ***hole players will instantly boot you from the server (one gets assigned to be the host) before you even get a chance to play. The way I look at it is that if you want more people to play the game which is losing players, DON'T BE ***HOLES TO THEM!! Do you think people want to play a game where they don't get a chance to play because the community isn't open to newcomers? I thought not.

This game is relatively fun, but I don't understand why this is the most played Ubi game online for the PS2. I know that it's the newest, however, it only offers up to eight players in a room. Even Ghost Recon 2 which had a crap single player, but very similar online play (in fact they play nearly identical to eachother) allows up to 16 players in a room.

My personal favorite Tom Clancy game on the PS2 is Rainbow Six Lockdown which I consider the best PS2 strategy FPS that Ubi made (Socom still murders it though, but sometimes you need variety). It's IMO a lot better than any of the GR games on the PS2, and allows for up to 16 players as well. Yet, no one plays Lockdown either. I strongly urge GRAW fans to look into Lockdown.

Now, there may be some people asking "Why in the hell would you get the crappy PS2 version of this game." My answer to them is that every online game gives you a different experience. The PS2 game of GRAW may not hold a candle to the Xbox 360 version (which I also own), but it's still a completely different game. Sometimes you need something new.

I'm not one to just play one online game. I want to experience as many games as I can, and sometimes that means played a downgraded, yet still different enough port of a game that's the same in name only.

I also like to switch up my consoles. I no longer have a Gold subscription to Live, but when i did, I'd move from PC gaming online, to original Xbox/Xbox 360 games on live, to the PS2 online. Each system has something to offer in the online arena.

@rocknroll980 Screw what the new gamer idiots say about the PS2. Lately I've enjoyed playing my old systems a lot more than the games of today. In truth, this current gen is disappointing as hell. Developers are more interested in making movies than game. The damn games practically play themselves. There honestly hasn't been a single genre defining game on the current gen consoles. Just prettier versions of PS2, Xbox and GC games.

@Albozfolife Sad how the biggest system with the biggest library of games (over 2,000) is fading away. This was the absolute best system made, and always will be. That is why I hate the word obsolete, I think that word came from Satin.
