Front 1 and 3/4 & Double Front Attempt

I've just started working my front 1 and 3/4 and double fronts. Right now they look pretty similar.

As you can see, I am opening up too late on the front 1 3/4. (Better late than early though.)

On the double front attempt, I'm obviously opening up too early. (My legs were a little fatigued by this point, which is why it's so low.) I might need to cowboy it around for now.

Both are also traveling too much. (They need to go up more.)

Hopefully they'll get better in the next few weeks/months.

  • How old were you when you started gymnastics and did it make you short?

  • @jrk987 I started when I was about 11 years old. I'm 6 feet tall now, so I don't think it stunted my growth too much.

  • That is going to suck when you do it on floor. Your not spotting your landing at all> i'm working them and you realy need to open out and roll for 1 3/4 and go alot higher for doubles. Stand up straigter at the beginning, it will help.

  • @ilikepie9519 Yep. I've improved a lot since then. I've been competing the 1 & 3/4 for over a year now. Still don't have enough height for a good double front though.

  • in the front 1 and 3/4 you need to look for floor out of the front tuck before rolling, then you'll be able to anticipate the open and roll out smoothly, from the looks of the video, your just opening out from air sense and hoping you land right

  • hold your tuck on your ankles and you'll spin faster dude

  • I tried this for the first time off our tumble strip quite recently; I landed on my back but i think I opened too early. I hope to land it soon :)
