The VFX work was amazing, no doubt about that. What is not amazing is that Rhythm and Hues, the company responsible for said effects, only made about 5% of the 500 million dollar profit, and then they went bankrupt because they couldn't support their employees who put in so many hours on this film and were under compensated so much.

not for a vfx studio. the energy bills for running thousands of computers alone costs many millions. to create what you see on screen is almost rocket science. the rendering of transformers took over a year on 90000 cpu's
