Charles Cecil, one of the Executive Producers on Doctor Who: The Adventure Games updates us on their progress. And we've a clip from Doctor Who Confidential showing the making of City of the Daleks which we launch on 5 June.

Charles Cecil looks back on the twelve months and ahead to the big launch...

"The first of the Doctor Who: The Adventure Games launches three weeks tomorrow! It seems unbelievable that City of the Daleks will soon be out there for millions of people to download and enjoy - pitting their wits against the Doctor's oldest enemies!

"It was over a year ago that I started talking to the BBC about the possibility of translating Doctor Who into a series of video game episodes and the intervening 12 months have been incredibly busy but creative and rewarding. It was immediately clear that the BBC had high ambitions - full 3D games that could be played by a very broad audience. In considering the approach it was vital that a game reflected the Doctor Who ethos, translating what people love about the television series into a game. That the Doctor would negotiate his way out of trouble rather than using force. That the wonderful exchanges between the Doctor and Amy would be conveyed. That you would, for the first time, be the Doctor.

"You'll soon be able to see for yourselves whether we achieved those aims. Right now we're applying the finishing touches to the first game. We were delighted by the hugely positive response City of the Daleks received from people who played it when we held the event in Sheffield, but we're aware that certain elements need perfecting and last minute glitches resolving. Over the next few weeks I'll be updating you on our progress and counting down to 5 June when The Adventure Games are launched and you can become the Doctor!"
