  • hey Robie1 i was wondering since your pushing 23PSI (damn impressive btw) how much boost the storm gsi 1.8L can take without any big mods other than the obvious turbo, intercooler etc.

i can see these cars have potential an since i have one i want to go FI at some point but i cant seem to find any solid info so i figured id ask... my guess is about 8PSI without touching the internals??

  • you are correct, 8psi is about max as the stock pistons are the weak point on that engine. The rods are nice and beefy though so no worries there.

You could go a bit higher(10psi) with race gas, but at the first sign of detonation, the pistons will chip like a china plate...

  • @Robie01 great info thanks alot!! nice storm BTW mine is a red '92 GSi ill post some vids of my setup as soon as i'm done!

Good luck with your future builds and show all the ignorant honda, mustang etc. guys what our little isuzu powered econo-boxes can do! :)

im a poor kid, bmw is old and was given to me by my parents

  • @254fds Why would you need to sell your BMW?

  • i honestly want to sell my bmw and buy a metro now

  • Nice exhaust. My '92 has a 2.5" Pacesetter exhaust with a 2-chambered Flowmaster Mustang GT Muffler. It looks stock and sounds awesome. Plus you have more clearance in the back. I hate when people forget about how low the muffer is and bend and scratch them up.

  • I See Nitto Tires?
