Second half of the Silver Bullet test session, demonstrating the locomotive- controlled action of the operating reefer cars.

These cars actually talk back to the locomotive, reporting their door opening and closing status, so the controller in the locomotive can command adjustments in the motor speed of each car so the doors complete their opening and closing functions simultaneously. Usually a half-dozen or so "Coors Delivery Stop" sequences are required to get all the car doors operating at the same speed.

One car on the rear seems to only operate when it feels like it. Probably a loose wire to be tracked down. Nothing serious :)

  • I wonder whats the music called.

  • @MarioKartWii64

It's an instrumental version of "Love Train". Supposedly Michael Jackson owned the rights to the original song at the time the set was under development, and wanted $50,000 for a license to use the real thing, so a cover band version was used instead.

  • @RailRide Do you think its on Youtube and I could find it or something? :/

  • @MarioKartWii64

Look up "Coors Light Love Train Commercial"

  • @RailRide No, I mean the song. I saw the commercial already on YouTube. :P

  • @RailRide I forgot what I looked it up under (And It shown on the Television a couple of times) but there is a commercial where the Silver bullet is seen going by but you catch a Glimpse of the Locomotive, the Tender and one or two of the cars. then there was another one (that aired on television) where a few people were waiting at a train station then the silver bullet came and you get a glimpse of the engine, Tender, and the High Tech passenger car.

  • @OGICHI21

I'm sure there are--the trick is finding the right search terms to filter out the hundreds (thousands?) of commercials that don't feature the train :)

  • @RailRide there are plenty of videos all over here on youtube

  • @RailRide I understand that But if you look in the first commercial video of The Coors Light Silver Bullet and when it comes out that improvised tunnel you can see it has a Tender and a Hidden passenger car
