I've come to the conclusion that everything is part of objective reality and all subjectivity cancels itself/each other out (partly because I can't be arsed to think anymore)

I don't think there is such thing as objective reality. But I do think things can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
Here is my definition of objective reality: That which exists when there is no-one around to perceive it.
This definition is based on the opposition definition of subjective reality.
What do you think?

I never said that you or anyone were 99.9%. It was a purely hypothetical number. All I was saying that under such a scenario that it would not be good enough for you to say anything favorable about the attempt to be objective.

Objective reality exists. Whether or not you understand something is a problem with your methods or available data. Our experience and interpretation of reality IS subjective, but that doesn't mean that objective truth doesn't exist.

@deekismusic I don't think what I said disagrees with that.

so what if you can't know everything in the world? objectivity has you work with as much information as possible and to make the best possible decision based on the available information.
If objectivity is worthless, then science and technology would be too. There would be no inventions, no discoveries. Computers would not exist. The terrible irony of what you are saying is that many of the quite technological terms you use required extreme amounts of objective thinking to categorize.

I don't believe its possible for a person to be completely objective, and yet these inventions and discoveries have been made nonetheless, so I will have to politely disagree with you.
The definition you site for objectivity seems to correspond more closely with 'rationality' than objectivity.
baronvonhoopla 2 years ago
Well, nobody is perfect. Yes, it can be hard or sometimes not possible for a person to know certain facts. But that does not mean that there are SOME facts that we can know. But it seems like you want all or nothing. To you, it seems that even having the ability to be 99.9% objective is not good enough or even worthwhile a goal to pursue.
I never tried to prove that inventors/scientists knew everything on earth. They only needed enough objectivity to make invention X or Y work.

Your optimism amuses me.
