  • I agree totally! One of the FEW singers in front of the public today that has the sound that totally surrounds you -- proper placement (reminds me of the sounds Price, Nilsson, etc. produced).

  • Have u heard price and nilsson sing?

i saw Dolora singin cavalleria this winter...truly sorround!

  • I heard both Price and Nilsson (also Sutherland) - I was fortunate enough to hear Nilsson in Elektra in standing room, she was the most incredible. Yes, Zajick's singing has the same sensation - I saw her as Amneris.

  • i have the elektra dvd...for me, seeing dolora is like that. cause i was not old enough to catch the others..haha

  • fierce.

  • and you all have it wrong. if you study verdi and how he wrote for his voices: when you're a baritone or mezzo in verdi repertoire, you need major extension, which explains why some sopranos will sing eboli as well, just like some mezzos will even sing lady macbeth. the whole fach classification system is pretty general and doesn't fit ESPECIALLY with "mezzos". look at jessye norman who everyone called a "mezzo" or grace bumbury, or shirley verrett. i mean, seriously. this role is for a SINGER.

  • parole,parole,parole...

Questa e la voce del soprano drammatico...

  • This has to be some of the most miraculous singing I have heard in years! I am set speechless…

  • Brilliant, as always. Brava Dolora!

  • @JuillHope17

there are some people who consider the dramatic mezzo and dramatic soprano to be variations of the same fach. personally tho, I think jessye norman and shirley verret were both mezzo with extensions. when they sang soprano rep, they were just too dark sometimes

  • Ah, yes. The is a real opera singer. None of this contempo cross-crap we get from the Nebrebkoitis crop of cover girls. Zajick is the undisputed Eboli of her generation, and one of the few ever who dared the ultra-dramatic finish on "salvero!" Brava.

  • "Ti maledico, o mia belta..."

Well, huh... don't worry, you've got really nothing to curse!

Having said that, rather nice voice...

  • Genial!!!! wunderbar!!!! great voice!!!!!!

  • @Loismustdie26

exactly! give me Sutherland, give me Corelli or give me Flagstad =)

  • Did you hear the tsunami of applause rolling in...? She certainly deserved it..!

    waauw, thx Dolora.

  • And thank god for it, I'm tired of these little weak voiced world-weary-ingenues populating the stage with their boring copy pasted voices. Give me Zajick, give me Callas, or give me Horne. I can't wait for the day when America isn't afraid of the strong voice again!
