La Danse Du Bonheur is by far one of the most acoustically challenging masterpieces for any audio equipment, audiophile and artist alike.
This song is a milestone in jazz fusion history because; it is the first of its kind to bring Western Jazz, North Indian Khayal and the South Indian Carnatic together.
Shakti means strength in Sanskrit. It also stands for the three pillars of modern Jazz - John McLaughlin on flamenco guitar, Zakir Hussain on tabla and L Shankar on violin.
The tonal variation and the speed with which this piece is performed radiates exuberance, sheer energy and versatility of these great masters.
I am playing this astounding number on my Rega P3 turntable equipped with an RB 300 tonearm and the acclaimed Elyse cartridge. The JBL S312s Beryllium tweeters, midrange drivers and woofers are dynamic enough to do justice to this lovely track. I guess a part of the credit also goes to the bright Rotel gear and my favourite Chord cables.
