Hate Forest - Desert Of Ice

This track is entitled "Desert Of Ice" by Hate Forest. This band exemplifies are certain raw, hardcore, extreme black metal sound that, in my honest opinion has yet to be matched. They are split-up now, and released their final album "Temple Forest" which was actually an ambient album unreleased but recorded in 2000. Their actual final full length was "Sorrow" and marked the end of this Ukrainian Black Metal outfit. They were headed by Roman Saenko of Drudkh, Dark Ages, and Blood of Kingu notoriety and Thurios of Drudkh and Astrofaes. This Ukrainian band unleashed 8 years of fury with multiple releases, sometimes more than one in a year, and for the better part, were able to add to their sound, if ever so slightly to induce a very seemless, yet necessary transition. The raspy vocals are done by Thurios and the deep, guttural vocals are done by Roman Saenko. I personally enjoy Roman's vocals, not only for it's change of pace between the typical grating, raspy vocals, but because it is a very legitimate and unaffected deep roar that sounds just brutally pleasing. And when the paragon between Thurios and Roman's vocals come together overtop of each other it's enough to put goosebumps on your arms.

This release is off possibly their best release "Purity", an album I HIGHLY recommend. Just an amazing seven track onslaught that makes it's presence felt.
