A short critique of the Bill Maher film "Religulous" and the reasons I both recommend and take issue with it.

AN IMPORTANT NOTE TO MY VIEWERS:
Many of you have erred in your assumption that this film is merely meant to be a piece of comedy. This film is undeniably politically-charged. Basically, Maher points out that religion is a bane to our society that it will eventually be our downfall (which I agree with)due to its unfortunate incorporation into our systems--government and law-related. He encourages people to question religion and to adopt the "I don't know" mentality instead of basing their beliefs off of illogical impossibilities (I agree with this as well). This is not simply a "comedy." His methods and the obvious editing which took place concerning the answers of some of his interviewees are the only things I have qualms with concerning the film.
I felt that:
1) Interviewees should have been forewarned
2) Maher's points had been the only ones shown in their entirety
3)he should have found professional people who agreed with his agnostic belief system for a truly well-rounded piece and to afford more credibility to it.
