As the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) moves forward on their budget process, it is becoming increasingly likely that bus and rail service will be cut--resulting in a loss of jobs unless financial aid comes to the system. These budget woes, part of a national economic recession, are coming at a time of record ridership and after the agency successfully hauled approximately 1.5 million people into and out of the city for Barack Obama's Inauguration. Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 689 President Jackie Jeter is quoted in the video.
Funny how people who don't want to join a union get mad those who do because they make more money and have better working conditions. But when you read Adorno's theory of a Authoritarian personality type it's pretty clear.

There is a problem. They asked you to take a pay freeze, but you say no. When they let people go, you will say no. I would have taken a pay freeze.
