http://www.explorethebruce.com/macgregor-point-provincial-park.php is a natural wonderland summer, fall, winter I checked it out. You realy have to try this with your family or friends as they are heated winter Yurts and really make some wonderful memories.

These semi-permanent canvas-covered structures are 16 feet in diameter, mounted on a wooden deck about two feet off the ground. Yurts can accommodate up to six people. They have two sets of bunk beds, a table and chairs, plywood floors, electric heat and lighting, and a propane barbecue.

It is an outdoor treasure that can be enjoyed year-round. Located on a seven-kilometre stretch of coast on Lake Huron it hosts a multitude of features that will stun the senses.

Amenities: * Yurts are equipped with two sets of bunk beds, each having a vinyl cover futon mattress, and a double vinyl cover futon mattress. * Table and chairs. * Electric heat and lighting (fluorescent). * Interior Electrical outlet (15 amp 110 v). * Exterior electrical pedestal (15 amp 110 volt) * Fire extinguisher and smoke detector. * Shelving unit. * Broom and dustpan. * Propane barbecue (propane is supplied) * Dining shelter. * Picnic table. * Fire pit (firewood is available for purchase at the park) * Snow shovel * Heated comfort station with flush toilets, showers and laundry facilities is open for use. * Drinking water is available from the comfort station.

What to Bring:

Sleeping bags, cooking stove, pots and pans, dishes and utensils, pot for heating water, drinking water container, dishpan and container for waste water from dish washing and food preparation, flashlight, lantern, matches, food, drinking water, bicycles, exterior 15 amp extension cord. Appropriate cold weather gear for winter. Additional items for winter camping include snowshoes, cross country skis, sled for carrying water from comfort station in winter and additional food supplies in case of inclement weather and road closures.

Note:

Domestic animals (pets) are NOT permitted in the facility or on the site and smoking is prohibited in all facilities. Cooking inside yurts is not permitted. Dishwashing and food preparation is to be done at the yurt campsite. Dishwashing is not permitted at the comfort station. Trailers and additional shelter equipment is not permitted on the yurt campsites.

  • would have been great to have actually seen the inside of the yurt, opposed to .. well you know. i'm interested what the bunks look like etc...
