  • Someone was talking about 'knowing the right notes to play' with this kind of music. But also the truth is that this stuff is so much more subtle, that the trick is the amount of force that is put into each note and the balance between all the other instruments; it differs allot from other kinds of rock n roll. And for that matter, I don't think the Floyd could always do the same thing twice even if they wanted to! It was always different in each version of any song.

  • @faceofpo funny u mentioned brubeck--thats the first thing i thought of even before the melody came in.......

  • This is was more or less a more psychedelic version of Herbie Hancock's Jack Rabbit. Still a good piece though.

  • Uninteresting track! Not every experiment they did was great.

  • I read in Nicholas Shaffners book that they made this to coincide with the sex scene in the movie, and the reason they called it "Up the Khyber" is because the scene seems to have them doing anal, but the final version of the movie is edited. Its just something I read...

  • This just too good! Seriously, anyone who thinks it's so easy to play like that has never tried. I tried a lot but you need to know which notes to play.

  • i want Us to get together...JAZZ new age

  • Very strange chords i think richards creativegenius makes this so great for me.

  • @666cfc Fair enough! Meddle is one of my favourites and Echoes one my all time favourite songs as well as all the others from that album.

  • @bluesy73 But I totally see your point and using those terms was just for the lack of better words for it(sellout and commercial). But it's not the amount of records they sold that makes me dislike those records. It's mostly the distance of them and the fact that playfullness and the magic of the songs such as San Tropez, Seamus and Alan's Psychodelic Breakfast was forever gone and was replaced w/ sort of theatrics I didn't really enjoy that much. Anyway good listening whatever it is
