Senator Collins participated in a special ceremony today, along with the families of 9/11 victims, military veterans, first responders, and other Members of Congress, to help stitch together an American flag that was destroyed during the collapse of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. The National 9/11 Flag, as it is now known, is being stitched back together by Americans across the country and today's ceremony in Washington formally begins nationwide plans to organize for the upcoming 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks.
