It was fascinating to watch this interview of Aishah Azmi, which began very stridently, with practiced responses from her. But when questioned concerning the hypocrisy of coming to the interview for the job without a veil, and in front of a male, she changed, becoming shifty, asking for the question to be repeated, or asking not to answer at all. It showed me something that I see often when working with Muslims at Speaker's Corner, or on the universities. What they tell you publicly is not necessarily what they will tell you privately. And when questioned, they will explain that it has to do with the two realms we live in (i.e. 'Dar al Islam' -- 'House of Islam' vs. 'Dar al Harb' -- 'House of War'). The West is 'Dar al Harb', thus, since Muslims are in the context of war they can say anything they want. Knowing this we should be careful not to take everything Muslim's say at 'face value', which harms open and honest debate. Can we not all be open and honest in what we say, so we won't have these embarrassing and needless mis-communications?

The teacher tried to deceive the Cof E school by first not wearing the burkha when she was interviewed where a male was present.......then she said she can't wear burkha when males are not present???

This lady did not deceive anyone. she didn't communicate her feelings about wearing the niqab in front of male colleagues particularly well. And you can not generalize one example of a Muslim lady and say that all Muslims have this private and public face. That's an ignorant statement.

Yes, she should have communicated her feelings about the niqab before hand, and wear the niqab for the interview but not everyone is consistent in their beliefs whether they be a muslim, christian etc.

@oda1332 lets be realistic! Religion, rights, If you're going to put yourself in the public eye, get a driver's license, or even go to the store, other people have rights too!!! To see who there freaking dealing with!!! Covering your face in a middle eastern country may work there but, they still ride camels and don't shower. It's the stone age!! We are civilized.
