Iran unveils 2 new combat speedboat production lines - Seraj and Zolfaqar (NG)

The Islamic Republic of Iran launched mass production lines of two high-speedboats, Seraj and Zolfaqar, with Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi in attendance.

In the inauguration ceremony, Vahidi said the most advanced and newest technologies have been used for designing and construction of the speedboats.

"Today, the Islamic Republic of Iran relying on a great defense industry and the powerful forces of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the army can provide security to the Persian Gulf, the Sea of Oman and Strait of Hormuz," Vahidi said.

Zolfaqar is a new generation of missile-launching vessels which is designed for quick attacks on the enemies' ships and is equipped with two missile launchers and two machine guns. It also can be used for marine patrols.

Seraj is also a fast moving vessel which can fire rockets and was designed for operations in tropical climates.
