Trying to remake this movie was almost a sacrilege. With all due respect to Harrison Ford, but Bogart and Audrey is two of the most charismatic actors to ever grace the silver screens.

I'm not given to tears but this scene and the marvellously perfect "Isn't it Romantic" from the genius of Rodgers & Hart brought tears to my eyes. As a young man I was in love with Audrey from Roman Holiday and then .... Sabrina.

I must say that having Bogart and Hepburn are in the same couple of inches gives a magical feel. As Hepburn, the image of pure witty naivety emerging from childhood into an elegant class of grace and Bogart, the image of a wise distinguished gentleman lock lips, the world becomes a better place.

I was amazed to see at the beginning of an episode of the TV series Gossip Girl this week, the first minute of this scene re-enacted by two of the characters, it too was shown in monochrome.

I guess it was just the director's joke, as I doubt if many of the viewers of that programme would have known the film.
