This kid fell out of its nest today... I learned they are called branchers, and put it in the branch near the tree where its nest is.

just shut the hell up and i dont think someone COULD get to a hawks nest without getting a big cut on their back and alot of people have card board boxes and camras

All of the rehabbers were telling me at first that he was a brancher and we kept putting him back up in the tree, even securing a box to the tree trying to keep him away from predators (like raccoons and the sort). That night we put him into our shop with a heat lamp on the corner of his box, and the following morning we took him to the agreed upon drop off point for the rehabber to pick him up from. Sadly he passed before she could pick him up from there - it was all very sad.

I'll bet the baby had help "falling out of the nest", by a human who happens to have a cardboard box and a camera. Federal crime - bird of prey.
