  • Stupid glossy screens ¬¬ I love that Lenovo doesn't have them, except for this laptop, but this is a more commercial laptp than the T series or something :)

  • This computer sucks. I am a user of this. It overheats easy, but is pretty durable. I dropped it down woodenstairs and it landed on concrete, and only the hard drive fell out (but I reinstalled it easily). Honestly for the price of it right now, you could get a far better laptop. Also, the fan is REALLY loud. The CPU is slow to respond as well at some times. Some massive freeze-up will happen and it will take me a minute or two to open up the task manager. I would write more, but too little room

  • Not worth what they cost !!!!!

  • @vigligkig There is a SIXTY THREE PAGE thread at forums.lenovo.com about the hinge problem. It is NOT the users, the hinges tension is set too tight causing damage to the hinges themselves and the bottom panel where the hinge plates attach. Other than this design issue, it's been a great laptop. I'm just lucky the hinges are available at eBay for $13 and I'm a tech and can do the work myself.

  • This does get hot in your lap, though with a cooler fan it isn't bad. I don't know what hinge people are talking about but this is a solid laptop unless you go for aluminum that can be uncomfortable due to heat conductance. I changed the screen to matte and the computer has been fine with 7 upgrade and new lenovo drivers except for realtek drivers, but that isn't lenovo fault.

  • sucks

  • i have an older version of the y530 and it's okay but only 2gb and integrated graphics sucks

  • My lenovo hinge broke after 2 years and the speakers are also spliting in the back what should I do?

  • This is a very "solid" laptop weightwise. I have gotten my use out of it, but the dvd/burner is junk. I have NEVER been able to watch/burn anything on it-it is pretty shatty there. Most of my memory is used up 3 yrs after I had it, I am in the market for a better laptop. Any ideas???

  • Lenovo is a great laptop. Don't listen to the cry babies crying about a damn hinge.

People don't know how to take care of their laptops for one. For 2 stop sitting your laptop on tables and in your laps dummies. Get you a laptop cooler, If your coller is not doing the job grab your fan and that will help cool your laptop. Most people don't even know how to take care of a laptop let alone a damn hinge. Get this laptop it's fast great laptop. Forget what cry babies say. I have a PC tech I'm good

  • Lenovo normally has really good build quality, but this notebook is NOTORIOUS for busted hinges. My brother had one for a little over a year before the hinge busted. Lenovo doesn't fix it, and the shop he took it too couldn't fix it either. At least not for less than a couple hundred dollars, and at that point you may as well buy a new laptop.

That's the only issue he ever had with it though. Other than that (a fluke, as far as Lenovos go) it was a great laptop.
