He is a libertarian, just not in the traditional use of the term. He supports unregulated private power, much like we saw in the early 20's, but more extreme. He's not a contradiction, or he'd be in another party; in reality, he's slightly to the right of various party members. He has different ideas how to maintain privilege and power...

Ron Paul is scary on every issue except the war and international politics in general every thing else he wants slash and destroy. Low or no taxes yes, sounds good but, you save several thousand dollars the corps get billions in saved taxes the wealthy get millions your community collapses but you get some more stuff in the short term.
