the typical irish person can go on the piss for many reasons..massive amounts of revenue via high tax is not one of them-but weddings, funerals, birthdays, births, holidays, promotions, emigration, anniversarys, exams results (good and bad) and many more are all totally valid reasons..why its quite possible, that with money as no object, an irish person would find more excuses to go on the piss than there are days in the year...every weekend the emergency rooms in this country are filled with alcohol related injury's, the majority of road accidents have booze in the tail..no doubt stats on rape and domestic violence will follow a similar vane. so yes..imo we really need another reason to go out on the piss... this time to celebrate the clever marketing of team diageo...the multinational owner of guinness..by lining their pockets with gold-while everyone else destroys themselves-again
