  • When I was a kid in the 70's there was a guitar company called Kopy Kat.

  • @bassplayer2011ify

    $2999 isn't 5 grand ;)

500 watt fliptop? The newish Portaflex 500? Not really a comparable amp! One is a 500 watt SS amp, the other is a 200 watt tube amp, anyway, who compares amplifiers on power? The asthetics are def. from the old fliptops tho, however they do sound pretty different.

Part of the pricing comes down to it being from a non-US company. It's like how Orange is really expensive in the US and Ampeg & Mesa are really expensive in the UK (even now Ampeg isn't US).

  • I'm sure all of us at least one time in our life put the drink on top of the amp, and once in a while they get knocked over and spill...

  • LOL they don't list prices on their site. I hate that!

  • Demos where they don't play the gear, especially when it's ridiculously expensive is just silly. Who buys gear based on looks? I'm guessing very few people.

  • @NeckPickup its based off the ampeg fliptop (look it up) amp used back in the early to late 60s

  • ok so why would i buy a 200 watt ashdown drop head for 5 grand (head and cab) when i can go buy a 500 ampeg fliptop (head and cab) for less then a grand

  • You think Im going to drop $3000 on 200 watts when I dont even know what it sounds like? Peeps need to start demoing during their Namm videos...

  • @GrieverKai ha-ha-ha)))

  • $2999? Suck my balls. I'll stick with the 410 and 115 ABMs that I bought for $650.
