I've been planning on building a Mandolin out of purple heart for a little while, but I'm not sure how I should go about it. I've been sent links from friends, but they aren't making too much sense. Tips?

Buy the book "The Ultimate Bluegrass Mandolin Construction Manual " and read it fully before you start building. It explains everything and has blueprints. Keep your tools sharp as purple heart wood is like iron to work with. It dulls tools easly, but looks great. Good luck
