Im trying to create a program in visual basic that when you plug a device into your USB port the program will then detect it and allow you to open the files on that device (Example: You plug in your MP3 player and you want to add or remove music) is there any how you could possibly help me out in any way

Your using RS232, I really need to find a tutoiral on how to connect to non Serial Port connections for example Instaid of connecting to COM1 i would connect to an address or something

I am trying to receive data from a pic18f455 via USB and i am not sure about my VB application it is the first time i have used it, In VB2008 there are ports in the toolbox can you use these? or are these only for RS232/485? All I need to do is figure out how to configure simple comms like you have done here so i can get moving again on my project, I would really appreciate any help
