also when i went there they were like building other buildings???iit was like wtf fake

yeh.. think like most castles in japan nowadays most of it just a kind of concrete rebuild..

that brown section ... the smaller tower is original

i think most of it was destoyed during the satsuma rebellion ... cant remember though

Kumamoto castle was built by Kato Kyomasa, ancestor of my adored Mother-in-law. I have visited Kumamoto on several occasions together with my husband and our only child, our son, Hisanobu. I hope to return again with our grand children, our son and his wife. Japan is my second home, I love it and was my happiest time when I worked in Tokyo vor over six years, plus visiting every two years for about two to three months each time.

eventhough many parts have been reconstructed I just love this castle. Especially when it's sakura time, so beautiful!!
