Magnificent direction from Albert Cavalcanti , with Stanley, Holloway, Betty Warren, and Tommy Trinder on top form, in a good accurate portrayal of Music hall, even if fictionalised as here. Wonderful sets done at a period at the end of the war when money was short, costumes used from other films, they has difficulties, but it turned one of the best early Ealing films.
