They are fighting in the snow in episode 9, "Subzero Ice Punch". And then they're also fighting in episode 45, "The Ultimate Clash".

i'm almost 22 years old and I watched this series and most of the others. I didn't and wont however watch the newest one. I believe that digimon should always be a group thing and the new one isn't. I have many ships that I like and Tai and Matt is one of them.
