  • Just watching "This is the Life" episode "Side by Side" and seeing actress Brenda Scott reminded me of the 1966 series "The Road West". I would love to see this series again. Is there any chance it has been kept for a possible DVD in the future? I have searched for years to find it.

  • HEY...! Vintage "This Is The Life"...!! Dyn-o-Mite..! Been waiting to see these..! Thanks so much!

  • This was a sort of reunion for Robert Shayne and director Lee {"Roll 'em!"} Sholem: both had worked together on "THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN", a decade before. This episode was produced and originally syndicated in 1962. The "Family Films" production unit was responsible for most of the series through the mid-'70s.

  • I'm not a religious person by any regard (not sure I even believe) but I'd much rather watch stuff like this than the Sunday Infomercials. Heck, I miss the Sunday Afternoon movies too, while we're at it. Some things just don't always change for the better.

    Thanks again, TVDays. :)

  • Because of FCC deregulation in the mid-'80s, weekly religious dramas such as "THIS IS THE LIFE" became a "liability", because more TV stations began filling time usually reserved for Sunday religious programming with other programs (today, mostly news and public affairs- or more often,"informercials"). Production of this series ended in 1986, but older episodes [mostly from the last decade of production] continued to be syndicated until a few years ago.

  • TV does need to get religion again.

  • Such innocent times :) What do we have now? That Snookie person getting drunk. Sigh.
