I Remember Me

An acrobatic dance-theatre piece.
This is a reconstruction of an evening in the home of the former variety star Victoria MaBel (1904 1976). She lives moments of her past as a dancer, showgirl, and acrobat during the 30s, 40s and 50s.
In the attic of her home, alongside old costumes and home-made lighting she keeps an old stage prop, her old number, her treasure Her Circle: a metal hoop 2 meters in diameter inside which she performed her star piece, the turn which made her a star, Song to the Moon.

This show with the modern sensibility of nouveau-cirque and dance-theatre combined stylistic with variety theatre of the past, has choreography and direction by Chris Channing and at its centre, Patrizia Marcatos finely researched 'impersonation' of a great artist nourished by the joy of her past. The show finishes with a reconstruction of "MaBel's poem", 'Song to the Moon' and is dedicated to one of MaBel's greatest influences and encouragers: her father George Smiles.

E la ricostruzione di una serata nella casa dellex-stella del Varietà Victoria MaBel, la quale rivive momenti del suo passato da ballerina, acrobata e show-girl (1930-50). Nella soffitta di casa, con anche i suoi vecchi costumi e delle luci di scene fai da te, tiene custodito il suo attrezzo acrobatico, il suo tesoro Il Cerchio: una struttura di 2 metri di diametro nel quale si esibiva nel numero che la rese famosa, Song to the Moon.

Questo spettacolo, una combinazione della sensibilità moderna del Nuovo-Circo e Teatro-Danza e lo stile del teatro e la varietà depoca, ha regia e coreografie di Chris Channing e come punto fulcro Patrizia Marcato con il ricercatissimo personaggio di un grande artista nutrita dalla gioia del suo passato Lo spettacolo finisce con è una ricreazione della "Poesia di MaBel", 'Song to the Moon'. Lo spettacolo è dediacto a la sua padre Gorge Smiles.
