Dorothy Squires sings "The Gibraltar Anthem" at her hugely successful one-woman show at the London Palladium on 6th December 1970. A couple of weeks before the concert, Dot was invited to Gibraltar to sing this stirring Anthem for the first time at the first international Gibraltar Song Festival. The Festival was held in the stunning St Michael's Cave and received a tumultuous reception from a wildly enthusiastic audience. Dot had to sing it three times that night and repeated it at her Palladium concert with great success.

  • And Los Islas Canarias are Morroccan. Next you'll be saying The Falklands are Argetinian! It's not the politics it's the voice, Dorothy.

  • I to have been a life long Shirley Bassey fan and have been listening to Squires for some years now and although she may give Dame Shirley a run for her money, Shirley still comes out on top. Squires isn't half bad though! :D

  • @MrPokie9 :) Bueno, por lo menos tu tienes tu queridisima Cara Al Sol que creo que te enorgullece, por lo menos es lo que parece. Lo que digo es cierto, si te ofende es tu problema. Still remains British, and according to Mr Cameron there's no chance do discussing sovereignty with Spain without Gibraltar's consent. Nothing YOU can do about it other that insult, yeah? Well, I'm immune to that, mate!

  • @heroex2 Una Mierda hijo de puta!

  • Wonderful recording by Dot.

    As for the Squires/Bassey comments:

Dorothy has some great recordings out there including her marvellous version

of Where Di I Begin but hands down, Shirley is better - by far.
