The reason they're usin kids in this video is just to show that these amazin olympic softball players that r the best in the world, is to show that they were once just little kids just like us playin softball and nobody thought they were goin anywhere with softball and look where they r now.

actually, "we have softball, you can have the rest" was meant to be a defiant statement of indifference to the olympic directors who got rid of softball, at least as i understood this commercial. i suppose its not really "moving", but I think it gets the point across, and the fact that nike's logo is on it means you will remember them when you think about it

I agree with that 100%.
I suppose it's up to each individual as to what constitutes "over the top" crassness. Color me a cynic, but I think portraying/manipulating little girls in order to sell shoes is a bit over the top, and I am not even remotely emotionally "moved" by it (unlike Schindler's List - which was for the most part a true story).
Worst of all was the "We have softball, you can have the rest" part - which implied to have a happy life, all a woman needs to do is play softball.

Baseball and softball are completely different sports. The concept is the same yes, but the strategy, attitude, pitching, hitting, etc are different. Besides....softball is better :)

ok LISTEN: to all the people saying that softball isnt a real sport and it doesnt deserve to be anything more than a rec game? I just want you to know that what goes around comes around.
softball players arent stupid, beastly, manly women. we are athletes and girls. face it. just because you're not dynamic enough to realize that doesnt mean you should go taking it out on people who love the game.Its immature and rude of you to say that it doesnt deserve to be in the olympics cause it does.
